Cybersmart

Hi Guys and welcome back to my blog! Today I will be telling you about cybersmart, In the Kaupeka hub we have been doing some learning about being safe online. Our focus is when people make a positive and negative comment on our blog. First we had to go on the cybersmart website and choose what level we are on. Grace and I have chosen stepping up, We then had to watch a video about it or read what was on the google slide. After that we moved on to our create task, For our create task we had to make a comic strip about how we would feel when someone commented a negative and positive comment on our blog.

Maths Problem Solving T3W2

Reading Fantastics W1T3

This week for reading we were using the Fantastics to analyse a text and discuss the importance of transferring our knowledge of the fantastics across reading and writing and read like writers. For our first task we needed to highlight the fantastics we found in little red riding hood. Writing The Fantastics T3W1

Hi Guys and welcome back to my blog! this week for writing our goal was: Use a range of written features to engage the audience. support ideas with detail(use an adverb to show how) For our first task we were looking at the 9 fantastics, We use them in writing and reading to show expression. When we are familiar with the fantastics we use it into our writing to make it better. For our first task we read the first part of Hansel and Gretel, Then for our create task we created a doc and wrote 9 sentences for where we would use the 9 fantastics. Maths Problem Solving - T3W1

Hi Guys welcome back to my blog! This week was the start of term 3 and I was really excited to start the new term. For Maths this week we were working on Problem solving. For the first task we were working through perimeter and area. Then we picked a buddie and chose a problem solving question to work out. Me and Eilish were working together and we picked these problems...

1. Do the Kaupeka students take up more or less than 1/5 of the students at st Francis of Assisi School?

This is our working out: We already know that there are 95 students in kaupeka hub so it more be more than 1/5 because 1/5 is 72. Next we used our maths knowledge we already knew and put 36 ÷ 5 = 7.2 so we would know that 360 ÷ 5 = 72. So the final answer is the kaupeka students take up more than 1/5

2. If 1/6 of the students in kaupeka hub turn up to help one of the working bees for the bike track, How many students would be there to support the builders on the day?f 

Our working out: We already knew that 9.5 ÷ 6 = 1.583 so then the answer would be 15 but we can round it up to 16.
