Maths!

Hi Guys and welcome back to my blog! This week for maths we were in our homebases our goal was: Identify and sort 2D and 3D shapes into classes. Define the properties of the shapes and justify the decisions made.
 For our first task we were to fill out this DLO if the shapes were platonic solid or non platonic and if they were polyhedra or non polyhedra and also how many sides, vertices and edges they have. 

Then for our next task we could choose out of a couple tasks I chose this one where we had to build with the multi-link cubes.

until we had to add them all together to make this pyramid

Harry Potter Reading!

Hi Guys and welcome back to my blog! This week for reading we were in our homebases and our goal was: Visualise using all of the senses, and talk about how this enriches meaning. For our first task we were supposed to choose a book and read a small part of the text. I chose Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone. Then for our create task we had to a DLO that shows our understanding of the goal. I created a visual image of the scene that I read and included phrases and words that stood out to me. Writing! Use a variety of sentence structures!

Hi Guys and welcome back to my blog! This week for writing our goal was: Use a variety of sentences structures, beginnings and lengths to give effect. For our first task on Monday we were looking at Compound, Complex and Simple sentences. Then for our Create Task we were to fill out a google drawing with some of our sentences from our narratives and show if they were complex, Simple or compound.

Maths! Using Place Value and Reversibility!

Hi Guys and welcome back to my blog! This week for Maths our goal was:Use a broad range of strategies to solve multiplication and division problems with whole numbers (Place Value & Reversibility). For our first task on Monday we were learning to solve some Multiplication and Division problems while using Place Value and Reversibility. Synthesising While Reading!

Hi Guys and welcome back to my blog! This week for reading our goal is: Think while reading, pick up new information, and come up with new ideas and new thinking. For our first task on Monday we were reading the book How To Be Normal

While we were reading the book we were Synthesising.When we Synthesise we read the text to create a bigger idea of what is happening. Then for our Second task/Create task we were to fill out a google drawing with what happened in the text. Here is mine!

Reading: Reading Between The Lines

Hi Guys and welcome back to my blog! 2 weeks ago for Reading our Learning Intention was: Independently predict, interpret and analyse text, 'reading between the lines' to gain a deeper meaning. On Monday we chose a video to watch about making inferences through film. For our create task we had to make a DLO that explains to someone what it means to infer and 'read between the lines'. Hi Guys and welcome back to my blog! This week for Writing our goal was: Use personal voice for effect. For our first task we were looking at what using our personal voice is. Then we had to pick one statement: 1. Are video games are good or bad for you? 2. Should children take time off school to protest for climate change? 3. Are zoos beneficial for animals

Then we had to write a paragraph about one of the statements on a shared document. For our create task we needed to write 2-3 paragraphs about the statement we chose. I chose: Are zoos beneficial for animals. Here is my paragraph I wrote :)

Hi Guys and welcome back to my blog! This week for Reading our goal was: Make predictions about the text. Look for clues to confirm predictions. When we predict or make predictions it is basically like thinking about what would happen in in the future using clues we have from the book title or the book cover! Our first task was to read the first couple pages of a book and predict what would happen next. Then we chose a book from Epic, Audible or the library to make predictions. For our create task we had to fill out a document with tables on it about the book we read. Here is mine:

This week for maths we were in our homebases. For our task we had to use different strategies to solve multi and divi problems. we copied off 12 questions and answered them by using the strategies: Rounding and compensating, Proportional adjustments (doubling and halving), Reversibility and Place value. One we finished the questions we had to create a DLO on how to do them here is mine :) Maths DLO
